The Original Rinseless Car Wash

NEW Version 6
The slickest and glossiest ONR yet.

Optimum No Rinse™ Wash & Shine, better known as ONR, is the original automotive rinseless car wash. Developed by Optimum Polymer Technologies CEO and chemist Dr. David Ghodoussi, ONR changed the way vehicles are washed and detailed by making the process faster, easier, safer, and far more water-efficient.

Now in Version 6, ONR has been refined once again for improved slickness, enhanced gloss, and an even better washing and drying experience.

Wash your vehicle anywhere with less than 2 gallons of water — no hose, no pressure washer, and no rinsing required.

What Is ONR?

Optimum No Rinse™ Wash & Shine Version 6 is a polymer-based rinseless car wash designed to clean vehicle surfaces without traditional rinsing.

Simply add ONR to a bucket of water, wash one section at a time with the Optimum Big Red Sponge, a wash mitt, or microfiber towel, then dry with a clean microfiber towel.

ONR can be used on exterior and interior surfaces, including paint, ceramic coatings, PPF, matte finishes, glass, plastic, vinyl, leather, carpet, fabric, window tint, infotainment screens, and more.

Why ONR Is Different

Most traditional car washes rely heavily on soaps or surfactants. These products create foam and suspend dirt in the wash water, but they often require rinsing and may leave residue behind.

ONR works differently.

ONR uses substantive polymer technology to help release dirt from the surface, encapsulate contamination, and provide lubrication so it can be safely wiped away. The formula is designed to leave the surface clean, slick, and glossy without the need for rinsing.

Unlike soap-based washes, ONR does not leave behind residue that can build up over time. It leaves a thin layer of polymer protection that does not interfere with ceramic coatings, waxes, sealants, or PPF.

What Makes Version 6 Better?

ONR has been continually refined for over 20 years. Version 6 takes the washing experience to the next level with improved slickness and gloss.

The biggest difference is the feel. Version 6 offers noticeably improved lubrication while washing and a smoother, slicker feel under the drying towel. The result is a cleaner, glossier finish with an even more enjoyable user experience.

FAQ

Can I use ONR without a hose?

Yes. ONR is designed to wash vehicles without a hose, pressure washer, or traditional rinse step.

Do I still need to dry the vehicle after washing with ONR?

Yes. “No Rinse” means no final hose rinse is needed. After washing each section, dry it promptly with a clean, absorbent microfiber towel for a clean, streak-free finish.

Can ONR be used as a pre-spray?

Yes. ONR can be diluted according to the label directions for use as a pre-spray to help loosen dirt and provide additional lubrication before washing.

Does ONR leave residue behind?

No. When used as directed, ONR cleans without the soap residue associated with many traditional car washes.

Can ONR remove wax, sealants, or ceramic-coating protection?

No. ONR is designed to clean safely without stripping waxes, sealants, or ceramic-coating protection.

Can ONR be used on ceramic coatings?

Yes. ONR is safe for ceramic coatings and will not interfere with coating performance.

Can ONR be used on matte paint or PPF?

Yes. ONR is safe for matte finishes, gloss paint, vinyl wrap, and paint protection film.

Can ONR be used before applying a ceramic coating, wax, sealant, or PPF?

Yes. ONR leaves no soap residue and does not interfere with the bonding of ceramic coatings, waxes, sealants, or PPF adhesives.

Can I use ONR on a very dirty vehicle?

Yes. ONR is highly effective for normal road film, routine maintenance washing, and even extremely dirty vehicles. For heavy mud, caked-on dirt, or excessive contamination, remove the bulk of the debris first with a pre-rinse. In most cases, ONR can be used without pre-rinsing or pre-treatment.

Can ONR be used on interiors?

Yes. ONR is safe for interior surfaces including leather, vinyl, plastic, fabric, carpet, glass, window tint, infotainment screens, and instrument clusters.

What does ONR smell like?

ONR Wash & Shine has a Mulberry scent, often described as berry or blueberry-like.

Why does the blue color in diluted ONR fade over time?

The blue color in diluted ONR comes from dye, which can gradually fade during storage. Heat, sunlight, air exposure, and contamination introduced into the bottle can accelerate this normal color change.

Fading dye does not indicate that ONR is spent or no longer effective. A change in color alone is not a reason to discard a diluted bottle. Discard the solution if it is visibly dirty, develops an off odor, or shows visible mold growth.

Can I reuse leftover wash solution?

A bucket of diluted ONR can be used to wash multiple vehicles. Do not reuse wash solution once it is visibly dirty or contaminated from washing a vehicle. If the solution remains clean, it may be saved for future use.

Can ONR be used as a clay lubricant?

Yes. Dilute ONR according to the label directions for use as a clay lubricant.

Can ONR be used in direct sunlight?

Yes. Wash in the shade when possible, but ONR is well suited for washing without a hose, including in challenging conditions such as direct sunlight. Avoid washing excessively hot panels whenever possible, work one section at a time, and dry promptly for best results.

Do I need distilled or deionized water to dilute ONR?

No. ONR is designed to work with normal tap water. Distilled or deionized water is not required.
