In any vehicle, the leather receiving the highest amount of use is the steering wheel. Prolonged exposure to sunlight, repeated exposure to sweat, skin fats, and cosmetic grease mean over time, leather becomes brittle, shiny, and the colour fades. Whilst regular cleaning with Geist Rapid Leather Cleaner should prevent the build-up of oils and help prevent damage, inevitably, some colour fading and cracking of the leather will occur. Geist Steering Wheel Kit contains the items required to refresh and restore the appearance of older steering wheels.
This kit includes everything you need to re-colour black steering wheels on any vehicle. Minor scratches and areas where colour has worn off can be easily refreshed.
Step 1: Spray Rapid Cleaner onto the sponge and squeeze it to create foam. Clean the steering wheel using the sponge to rub the surface. Then, wipe with a damp cloth to remove dirt. Repeat several times if necessary. Then, wipe with a dry cloth.
Step 2: Pour a little Degreaser onto a dry cloth and rub firmly over the surface to remove the remaining grease.
Step 3: With the Sanding pad, gently smooth out rough areas. Be careful not to sand the stitching. Wipe off dust with a soft dry cloth.
Step 4: Apply Easy Colour Restorer (one-step colouring pigment/dye) using a sponge. Wipe the colour evenly in the direction of the fibres and dab into damaged areas. Dry each layer with a hairdryer on a medium setting. Build multiple thin layers until desired covering is achieved.
Step 5: A day later, apply Dye & Friction Blocker to increase durability and resistance of the repaired area.

If you receive a damaged or incorrect item, please notify us within 10 days of delivery. Send an email to info@detailingshed.com.au with your order number and clear photos of the issue. We’ll work quickly to arrange a replacement or refund if stock is unavailable.
If you're returning an item valued over $50, we recommend using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We are not responsible for returned items that are lost in transit.
If an item hasn’t arrived, please allow 7–15 business days after Australia Post or the courier begins their investigation. We’ll notify you once your case is resolved and any refund or replacement is processed.
