Maniac Line Iron Remover removes iron oxide contamination, such as stubbornly embedded brake dust and ferrous particles created by friction on railway or tram tracks and by industrial and roadside or construction site pollution.
There are different types of contamination, in general, we can define them as everything that we cannot remove with a normal detergent. At first glance, contaminants are often not visible. They are however present on the rims, bodywork and even on the windows of the vehicle.
How can we recognise them?
On RIMS, ferrous contamination is easily identifiable: for example, after cleaning with a specific product, if dirt and black or dark brown dots remain between the spokes and on the rim channel, this is to be considered contamination.
On the BODYWORK, if the contamination is deep, the colour of the car will appear dull and in the case of white cars, even after washing, you will continue to notice small dark brown dots.
Our advice is to use Iron Remover when the bodywork is dull or rough to the touch and when there are still dots or dark spots on the rims after washing.
Iron Remover is ready to use and can be used directly on the rim, bodywork and glass in total safety. The 1:1 dilution is recommended only for maintenance or light contamination.
Decontamination of rims
As a maintenance procedure, perform a decontamination every three washes, using the product diluted in a 1:1 ratio. Apply the undiluted product directly to the rims and leave it to act for approximately 3-4 minutes, avoiding it drying on the surface.
The innovative formula contains a marking agent that reacts with contaminating iron particles, dissolving them. During the action, the product changes colour becoming purple, indicating both the dissolution of the particles and a deep degreasing action. Special attention has been paid to masking the sulphur odour of the product, making it more pleasant to use.
Use a brush or soft bristle brush to ensure you get rid of dirt even in the most difficult spaces, such as between the spokes and crevices. Rinse the circles thoroughly with water and dry with a microfibre cloth. Its neutral pH and acid-free formula guarantees safety and effectiveness, even on the most delicate surfaces. It can be used on steel, aluminium, light alloy, painted, chromed or polished rims without risk. Iron Remover combines remarkable cleaning capacity with decontaminating action, offering a 2 in 1 solution to effectively clean and decontaminate.
Decontamination of bodywork
After washing and drying the car, and always working in the shade on a non-hot surface, apply the pure product evenly while maintaining a distance of approximately 40 cm from the surface. Leave it to act for 3-5 minutes and watch the product work, dissolving impurities and deeply purifying. A thorough rinsing will reveal a body like new, with surfaces that are smooth to the touch, shiny and brightly coloured. Decontamination is also essential as preparation for the application of a protective treatment, improving its adhesion.
Note: Avoid use on unpainted or unprotected metals and do not apply to motorcycles.
What is contamination?
Contamination can be of various origin and can be summarised as minerals, calcium, iron and lime scale. Iron particles created by friction on railway or tram lines or emitted by factories are extremely volatile and all vehicles are subject to this type of dirt. Normal detergents do not work on these types of contaminants and cannot dissolve the dirt. This is why it is essential to have a specific decontaminant for iron fallout.
What is the difference between a normal iron remover and Iron Remover of Maniac Line?
The main advantages over commercially available iron removers are: speed of action, safety of use and a pleasant scent that covers the typical pungent smell of sulphur.
When cleaning rims, when should I use an iron remover and when should I use a specific cleaner?
Use Wheel&Tire Cleaner every time you wash the car and Iron Remover every three washes. Unlike dirt, ferrous contamination builds up over time, dulling the shine of the surface.
Can I use Iron Remover before applying wax or a protective treatment?
Yes, this should be done before applying a wax or protective treatment as it helps adherence.
When should I use Iron Remover on the bodywork and how often?
When your car bodywork is dull or rough to the touch and when there are dots or dark spots after washing. We recommend using Iron Remover on the bodywork every three washes.
Where is contamination usually found?
Contamination can be found on the rims, bodywork and even on the windows of the vehicle.
How can I tell if there is contamination on the rims?
Contamination can be seen easily on the rims. Usually, once the rim has been cleaned with a specific product, all dirt and black or dark brown dots remaining on the rim and between the spokes are considered contamination.
How can I tell if there is contamination on the body or windows?
If the contamination is extensive, it may also be visible on the bodywork: the colour of the bodywork will look dull and, for white cars, you will still see brown dots after washing. If you can't see it, take a plastic shopping bag, the disposable ones for example, and - with your hand inside it - wipe it over the bodywork: you'll feel the rough bodywork underneath. What you are feeling is contamination.
What do you need for this task?
A soft-bristled brush to apply the product evenly, the rub to increase the penetrating action and thereby the effectiveness on embedded dirt, and a hose.
Why can't I use it on unpainted callipers?
Because unpainted callipers are made from crude iron, an alloy of iron and lead. The product acts on iron and could blacken the callipers. Therefore, take care when applying the product close to the brake calliper.
Should Iron Remover be diluted?
Iron Remover is ready to use and can be directly and safely applied to wheels, bodywork and windows. 1:1 dilution (one part product to one part water) is recommended only for maintenance or light contamination.
