Bigboi Pressure Washer Buyer's Guide

How To Choose The Right Bigboi Pressure Washer

Answer four simple questions and we'll point you to the Bigboi model that matches your space, your workflow, and your budget.

This guide is built to help you choose the right pressure washer. Instead of throwing specs at you, we walk through the questions that actually matter for your decision. By the end, you'll know exactly which Bigboi model fits your situation.

At Detailing Shed, I run a Bigboi DUO on a wall mounted 20m setup. That works for me. But your setup might be different, and there's a Bigboi that fits whatever you need.

Question 1: How Often Will You Use It?

Your usage frequency determines whether you need commercial grade durability or consumer grade convenience.

Daily / High Volume

10+ Cars Per Day

You're running a commercial detailing studio. You need commercial pump internals that handle constant duty cycles.

Look at: Pro MKII

Regular / Weekly

3 to 5 Cars Per Week

You're a serious detailer or weekend enthusiast. You need professional performance without commercial overkill.

Look at: Duo or Quad

Mobile / On Site

Customer Locations

You travel to your customers, work from a ute or van, and need a unit that runs off a generator if needed.

Look at: Tradies

Occasional / Casual

Weekend Wash

You wash your own car occasionally and use it for driveways or patios. You want power without paying for commercial features.

Look at: Flo or Quad

Question 2: Wall Mount Or Portable?

Where the unit lives changes everything about workflow, cable management, and which model you should consider.

Wall Mount Option

Fixed Bay Setup

Keeps floors clear, gives permanent hose reach, looks professional. Best if you have a dedicated detailing space.

Wall mount compatible: Pro MKII, Quad, Duo

Portable Option

Move Around Setup

Throw it in the van, use it at different locations, store it when not in use. Best for mobile detailers and shared spaces.

Portable models: Tradies, Flo, Quad (8kg)

Question 3: Do You Need Serviceability?

If your pressure washer is essential to your income, you need a unit that can be repaired and maintained, not replaced.

Fully Serviceable

Built To Last

Replacement parts available, pump can be rebuilt, designed for long term ownership. Essential for daily professional use.

Choose: Pro MKII, Duo, Tradies

Limited Serviceability

Use And Replace

Some replacement parts available but not designed for major rebuilds. Fine for home garage use where downtime isn't critical.

Available: Quad, Flo

Question 4: Pressure Or Flow Rate?

For car detailing, flow rate matters more than max pressure. Higher LPM rinses dirt and chemicals faster without risking paint damage.

Flow Rate Priority (Car Detailing)

8 to 9.5 LPM

High flow with safe pressure under 1900 PSI is ideal for detailing. Lifts dirt and chemicals fast without swirl marks.

Best for detailing: Pro MKII (9.5 LPM), Tradies (8.8 LPM), Duo (8.5 LPM)

Pressure Priority (Heavy Cleaning)

1850 to 2600 PSI

If you also clean driveways, concrete, patios, or stubborn grime, high pressure becomes useful. Still safe for cars at distance.

Best for mixed use: Flo (2600 PSI), Pro MKII (1850 PSI)

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between Quad and Duo?

The Quad (1050 PSI, 7.45 LPM, 8kg) is lightweight and compact, ideal for home garages and tight spaces. The Duo (1400 PSI, 8.5 LPM, 30kg) has more power and flow, better for professional workshop use. Quad for enthusiasts who want portability. Duo for consistent professional performance.

Can all models be wall mounted?

Pro MKII, Quad, and Duo are all wall mountable. Tradies and Flo are not. They're designed for portability and ground placement. Wall mounting keeps your floor clear and gives permanent reach across your bay.

Which models are fully serviceable?

Pro MKII, Duo, and Tradies are fully serviceable with replacement parts available. Quad and Flo are not fully serviceable. Some parts exist, but they're not designed for major rebuilds. This affects durability for daily professional use.

Do all models come with a foam cannon?

Yes, every Bigboi WashR model includes a quality foam cannon (the Quad comes with FOAMR PRO+). It's part of the package. You can upgrade to the FoamR PRO+ for maximum coverage and control.

Which model is quietest?

All models use induction or brushed motors which are quieter than traditional designs. The Quad is notably quiet at under 80dB. If noise is a concern (home garage, neighbours nearby), the Quad or Duo are your best choices.

Can I run a Bigboi off a generator?

The Tradies is purpose built for generator compatibility. The others prefer standard power outlets, though heavy duty extension cords work for temporary setup. Always check the manual for specific generator recommendations.

What warranty do Bigboi models come with?

All Bigboi WashR models come with a 3 year warranty on the motor, pump, and internal components. This is longer than typical industry 1 year warranties, thanks to the motor technology and build quality.

Which model would you personally choose for a home garage?

If I had a home garage and wanted one pressure washer for cars, driveway, and occasional patio work, I'd buy a Duo and skip the wall mount for flexibility. If I wanted max pressure at low cost, the Flo is hard to beat. For compact wall mounting at home, the Quad is unbeatable.

Can all models accommodate different hose lengths?

Yes, all Bigboi models accept different hose lengths. We run our Duo on 20m. The limiting factor is pressure drop over very long hoses. Typically 25m+ hoses start to show slight PSI loss at the nozzle. Consult the manual for your hose length choice.

That's My Approach

At Detailing Shed, I chose the Duo on a 20m wall setup because it strikes the balance between power, noise, cost, and reliability. But that's my workflow. Yours might be different. Call us and we'll help you figure out which Bigboi setup makes sense for your space.
