The Macnaught Retracta R3 is an industrial strength retractable compressed air hose reel, designed and manufactured in Australia. Built around a high impact polypropylene case and premium reinforced PVC hose, it is made for detailing studios, workshops and garages that need a permanent, tidy air supply rather than a hose coiled on the floor.
This reel is available in two hose configurations, both supplied with 20m of premium reinforced PVC air hose:
If your current setup already works well, match the size you are running now. If you are stepping up to more air hungry tools, the larger bore is the safer choice.
The hose outlet fitting differs between the two options: 1/4" BSP on the 3/8" reel and 3/8" BSP on the 1/2" reel. These are the standard fittings most commonly used with pneumatic tools and hoses at each size. Select your required hose size from the variant selector above.

Fixing hardware is not included. Fittings, couplers and air tools are not included.
The R3 mounts on a 180° galvanised steel swivel bracket, allowing the reel to rotate and feed hose toward your work area rather than dragging it sideways. It can be mounted to a wall, ceiling or bench, provided the surface is structurally sound.
Fixing hardware is not supplied, because the correct fasteners depend entirely on what you are mounting to. Timber stud, steel, masonry and plasterboard all require different fixings. If you are unsure, have the installation carried out by a qualified tradesperson. Refer to the Macnaught instruction manual before installation and first use.
A fixed reel keeps your air hose organised and off the floor, which removes the loose hose that otherwise gets dragged across paintwork, walked on and tangled. Air is available the moment you need it, and retracts out of the way when you are finished, giving a cleaner, safer and more permanent workshop setup.
The R3 is built from high impact polypropylene with a galvanised steel mounting bracket and a wear resistant ProGlide mouth at the hose outlet. It is a fully serviceable design, so components can be maintained or replaced over the life of the reel rather than discarding the whole unit. Macnaught back the R3 Series with a 10 year warranty.
This reel is offered with either 3/8" (10mm ID) or 1/2" (12mm ID) hose, both 20 metres long. The reel inlet is 3/8" BSP on both. The hose outlet is 1/4" BSP on the 3/8" reel and 3/8" BSP on the 1/2" reel.
Yes. It is supplied with premium reinforced PVC hose specified by Macnaught for compressed air use.
Macnaught list a pressure rating of 250 psi for this reel, with a maximum operating temperature of 60°C.
Yes. It is supplied with a 180° galvanised steel swivel mounting bracket, and includes a locking bracket to hold the reel at 90° if you prefer a fixed position.

Yes. Macnaught specify the R3 Series as suitable for use across most industries, and it is a common choice for detailing studios and automotive workshops running compressed air.
3/8" suits most general workshop and detailing air tools. The 1/2" hose allows a higher flow of air, so it is the better choice for tools with higher air consumption, such as a rattle gun used for wheel nuts. If you are unsure, contact us with the tools you are running and we will advise.

For orders with free shipping, we determine whether to use a courier service or Australia Post based on the address. If you prefer your order to be shipped via Australia Post, please select the "Parcel Post" option at checkout.
Note: We do not ship to PO Boxes or Parcel Lockers with free shipping.
If your parcel is returned to us, the following conditions outline when additional shipping costs may apply:
*We will not be held responsible for delays or late delivery of Australia Post or courier services.
*If a parcel does not arrive as anticipated, please allow 5-7 working days for Australia Post or couriers to complete process of tracking and locating as in most cases it turns up after 3-7 days of expected delivery. We cannot refund or send another item until this process is completed.
*We don't take responsibility for orders that are lost or stolen once the parcel has been delivered to the correct delivery address.
*Items that are over 21kg may require to pay extra freight costs if in regional or remote areas - we will contact you if this is the case.

Unused and unopened accessories such as brushes, pads, and towels may be eligible for return, pending approval by our customer service team. Email us at info@detailingshed.com.au with your order number and photos of the item(s) to request approval.
Yes, we accept exchanges. If you ordered the incorrect product and need to get something else, send it back under the returns policy and make a separate purchase for the new item.
You may cancel your order if it hasn't yet been processed or shipped. Please note that a 3% transaction fee will be deducted from your refund. The remaining amount will be returned to your original payment method.
Once your order has been processed or dispatched, cancellations are no longer possible. However, you can still return the items in line with our Returns Policy.
If you receive a damaged or incorrect item, please notify us within 10 days of delivery. Send an email to info@detailingshed.com.au with your order number and clear photos of the issue. We’ll work quickly to arrange a replacement or refund if stock is unavailable.
If you're returning an item valued over $50, we recommend using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We are not responsible for returned items that are lost in transit.
If an item hasn’t arrived, please allow 7–15 business days after Australia Post or the courier begins their investigation. We’ll notify you once your case is resolved and any refund or replacement is processed.
Please note: Product packaging or colours may vary from online images due to manufacturer updates. Refunds will not be issued for these variations unless the product is faulty or incorrect.
Discount codes must be applied at checkout and cannot be added to an existing order. We are unable to apply discount codes or refund the difference once an order is processed.
