Westinghouse iGen4750PRO Inverter Generator 3,800W Pure Sine Wave

WP iGen4750PRO

Options: iGen4750PRO
In-stock: Inventory updated

The Westinghouse iGen4750PRO is the entry point into the PRO range and the one most mobile detailers start with. It gives you 3,800 running watts through a single 15 amp weatherproof outlet, with an RCD safety switch built into the control panel. That is enough to run one machine properly: a Kranzle pressure washer, a BigBoi blower, or a small air compressor. At 36 kg dry it is the only unit in the range one person can realistically load into a van on their own.

Pure sine wave inverter3,800 running watts57 dB(A) at 1/4 loadOne machine at a time
Power3,800 running watts, 4,750 starting watts, 15.8 amps continuous. Enough for any single 10 or 15 amp detailing machine.
OutletsOne 240V 15 amp IP66 socket, the same 15 amp outlet fitted to every PRO model. A 10 amp plug fits a 15 amp socket, so your detailing gear plugs straight in.
SafetyRCD safety switch fitted, approved for workplace use. Weatherproof IP66 outlet and a frame earthing terminal.
Noise57 dB(A) at quarter load, 67 dB(A) at full load, measured at 7 metres. Quiet enough for a customer's driveway.
Run timeUp to 14 hours at quarter load on a 12 litre tank. 4.2 hours flat out.
Weight36 kg dry, 46 kg with oil and fuel. Extendable handle and wheels.

Who this model suits

Ideal for

  • Solo mobile detailers running one machine at a time
  • Powering a 10 amp or 15 amp Kranzle away from mains
  • Driveway and car park work where noise matters
  • Anyone who loads and unloads the generator single-handed
  • Backup power for a fixed detailing bay during outages

Not the right choice if

  • You need a compressor and a pressure washer running together
  • You want a second outlet for other equipment
  • You run a machine hard all day and want capacity in reserve
  • You want room to add equipment later without changing generators

What it will run

Australian machines are either 10 amp or 15 amp. Power quality is not the limiting factor here, since all three PRO generators give pure sine wave output with less than 2.5% total harmonic distortion. What limits you is the single 15 amp socket, and the 4,750 starting watts available to get a motor turning. Allow two and a half times a motor's rating for starting, or three times for an air compressor that starts against tank pressure rather than venting its head pressure when it stops.

Bars are scaled against 35 amps so this chart lines up with the iGen7500PRO and iGen10000PRO charts. The generator supplies 15.8 amps continuous through one 15 amp socket, which is why this is a one machine generator. Two motor loads is a job for the iGen10000PRO.

Before you order: Petrol generators must be run outdoors in open air. Never run one inside a van, trailer, garage or any enclosed space, and keep the exhaust away from open doors and windows. Carbon monoxide is odourless.

This generator is not suitable for connection to a fixed multiple earthed neutral (MEN) electrical installation. It is designed for standalone plug and socket use. Any connection to a building's wiring must be done by a licensed electrician with the correct changeover equipment.

How it compares to the other two PRO models

Every PRO model has the same 15 amp IP66 outlet and the same RCD safety switch, so your leads and machines plug in identically whichever one you choose. What changes is how many outlets there are and how much capacity sits behind them.

Choose this one if you run a single machine at a time, work alone, and lift the generator in and out of the van yourself.
Step up if you need a compressor and a pressure washer running together. That is the iGen10000PRO, the only model in the range we rate for two machines. The iGen7500PRO sits between the two: still one machine, but with a large reserve, a 32 amp socket and a bigger tank.

Common questions

Will it run a Kranzle pressure washer?

The 10 amp and 15 amp KHD10/122 both run on it, and so does the KHD7/122TS. The K1152TST is the exception: at 2.8 kW intake it needs around 7,000 watts to start on the standard two and a half times rule, and this generator supplies 4,750 starting watts. For that machine, start at the iGen7500PRO.

How much starting power does my machine need?

Multiply the motor's rating by two and a half. A 1.8 kW pressure washer motor needs about 4,500 watts to start, and this generator supplies 4,750. For an air compressor that starts against tank pressure, rather than venting its head pressure when it stops, allow three times instead. That is the one case where a 10 amp compressor can be too much for this model.

Can I plug a 10 amp lead into the 15 amp outlet?

Yes. In Australia a 10 amp plug fits a 15 amp socket, because the 15 amp socket has a larger earth pin opening. The reverse is not true, which is why a 15 amp machine cannot be plugged into a 10 amp point.

Can I run two machines at once?

No. This is a one machine generator. There is a single 15 amp socket on the panel, and two machines together need 20 to 25 amps of supply before you allow anything for the surge each motor draws when it starts. If a compressor and a pressure washer need to run together, the iGen10000PRO is the model for that.

What does the RCD safety switch actually do?

It monitors current flowing out and back through the circuit. If some of that current takes another path, for example through a person or through water into the ground, the RCD disconnects the supply. Australian workplace rules for portable generators supplying construction and demolition sites require RCD protection, which is why the PRO models have it fitted from the factory rather than relying on an add-on lead. Test it with the test button before each job.

How loud is it in a residential street?

57 dB(A) at 7 metres at quarter load, rising to 67 dB(A) at full load. Quarter load is roughly conversation level at that distance. Bear in mind that under a pressure washer the engine will not be sitting at quarter load, so expect something between the two figures in real use.

Can I connect it to my house or workshop switchboard?

Not directly. This unit is not suitable for connection to a fixed multiple earthed neutral (MEN) installation. It is built for standalone plug and socket use. Any connection to fixed wiring needs a licensed electrician and the correct changeover equipment.

What fuel does it take and how long does a tank last?

Unleaded 91, 95 or 98 RON. Ethanol blends such as E10 are not recommended. The 12 litre tank gives up to 14 hours at quarter load or 4.2 hours at full load.

What is included?

Plug-in battery charger, wireless remote control, extendable handle and wheels, engine oil, and the standard accessory kit. No assembly is required beyond adding oil and petrol.

Equipment suitability above is general guidance based on the manufacturer's published supply requirements for each machine, not a performance guarantee. Actual results depend on your equipment, lead length and condition, ambient temperature, altitude and how continuously you run the load.
