Detailing Shed | Australia's Home of Labocosmetica
Every Labocosmetica product explained in plain language: what it does, which stage of the process it belongs to and what to buy first. No hype, just what works on real cars. All products ship from our Sydney warehouse.
Labocosmetica is an Italian detailing brand, made entirely in Italy and engineered around five clear stages — washing, decontamination, polishing, protection and maintenance — so every bottle has one clear purpose. From pre-wash and decontamination to correction, preparation and protection, the range is designed to work as a complete system rather than a shelf of unrelated products.
Every product in the range is PFAS-free, so none of the formulas lean on "forever chemicals" for their slickness or durability.
Detailing Shed is the Australian home of the full Labocosmetica catalogue, and this guide organises the whole range into one practical system — what to buy, in what order, starting with your very first bottle. See the quick reference guide for a one-line summary of every product, or jump straight to what to buy first if you're just getting started.
Most of the range is sold as a concentrate, so you're buying the same professional-grade chemistry the trade uses, just in a size that suits a driveway rather than a van.
It's not just another Italian shampoo brand with nice packaging. A few things genuinely set it apart from the rest of the detailing aisle, and they're the reasons Detailing Shed carries it as our flagship Italian range.
Formulated, tested and bottled in Labocosmetica's own laboratories — not white-labelled or outsourced.
No forever chemicals in any formula, without giving up the slickness and durability those chemicals are usually there for.
Alkaline, acidic and neutral products engineered to work together in sequence, instead of one shampoo trying to do every job.
Large parts of the range are safe over ceramic coatings, paint protection film and vinyl wraps, not just bare paint.
Most liquids are sold concentrated, so one bottle stretches across far more washes than the label size suggests once diluted correctly.
The same formulas mobile detailers run commercially are sold in retail sizes for anyone doing their own car at home.
Labocosmetica's Primus was the first pre-wash in the world to earn VDA certification — the German automotive industry's material-safety standard — proof the chemistry won't damage delicate surfaces.

Labocosmetica itself talks about five phases — washing, decontamination, polishing, protection and maintenance. We've split that into the seven practical steps below because that's how the work actually happens on a driveway: pre-wash and wash are two different products and two different moments, and interior detailing usually runs alongside the exterior stages rather than after them.
1. PRE-WASH: loosen dirt, oils and grime before anything touches the paint, cutting the risk of marring during contact washing. Primus and Neve.
2. WASH: the contact (or rinseless) wash itself, using a pH-neutral shampoo or waterless system to clean without stripping existing protection. Semper and Idrosave.
3. DECONTAMINATION: strip out what a wash alone can't — bonded minerals, embedded iron and stubborn water spots. Purifica, Sidero, Energo and Lubrifica.
4. INTERIOR: clean cabin surfaces — plastics, vinyl, general trim — safely and effectively while the exterior stages are underway. Omnia and Ductile.
5. CORRECTION: machine polishing to remove swirl marks, scratches and oxidation, working from heavy cut through to a finishing polish. Audace, Leale and Fiero.
6. PREPARATION: strip any remaining oils, polish residue or filler before a coating or sealant goes on. Veritas.
7. PROTECTION: lock in the finish with a sealant, a quick-detailer top-up, and matching tyre dressing. Beneficia, Perfecta and Nero.
You won't run all seven stages every weekend. A typical maintenance wash is really just stages 1, 2 and 4 — pre-wash, wash, and a quick interior wipe-down — with decontamination done every few months and correction and preparation reserved for a proper once-off or annual detail. Protection gets topped up as often as you like.

You don't need all 17 products on day one. These five cover a complete basic routine — pre-wash, wash, interior and protection — and almost everything else in the range is a specialisation of one of these five jobs.
Already coated? Swap Primus for Neve in this starter set — same idea, gentler chemistry, built to protect what's already on the paint rather than strip it back for correction work.
Not every vehicle needs the full range. Choose the setup that best matches your situation.
You wash your vehicle every couple of weeks and want a simple maintenance routine with professional results.

The full range, organised by the same seven stages as the system above — what each product actually does, how it's applied, and where it sits relative to the others in its category.
01 · Pre-WashThe heavy hitter. A high-pH alkaline snow foam designed to break down organic grime — road film, oils, bug splatter and general dirt — before you ever touch the panel with a mitt.
When to use it: apply through a foam cannon or pressure washer foam lance on heavily soiled cars, then rinse before contact washing.
Where Primus is the heavy-duty option, Neve is the everyday one. Its pH-neutral formula is safe for regular use over ceramic coatings, waxes and sealants.
When to use it: your default snow foam on a car that's already protected and just needs a gentle pre-wash before contact.
The core maintenance shampoo of the range. pH-neutral, lubricating enough to reduce marring during contact washing, and safe over any existing wax, sealant or ceramic coating. If you only ever buy one Labocosmetica product, it's probably this one.
When to use it: every weekly or fortnightly wash, in the bucket or through a foam lance.
A rinseless wash concentrate that cleans and lubricates the surface using a two-bucket method, without needing to rinse the car afterwards.
When to use it: apartment living, water restrictions, or whenever a hose isn't practical.
The acidic counterpart to Primus. Breaks down inorganic, mineral-based contamination — light water spots, rail dust and mineral bonding — as part of the pre-wash stage. Used with Primus and Semper, it forms the 3pH Wash System.
When to use it: paired with Primus and Semper as the 3pH Wash System, or on its own before a wash on a car with mineral buildup.
A dedicated, direct-application iron remover. Spray it on paint or wheels and watch it react and bleed as it dissolves embedded iron particles — the fallout regular washing never removes.
When to use it: every few months on paint and wheels, or whenever the surface feels gritty after a wash.
A concentrated water spot and limescale remover for stubborn mineral staining that's been left to bake in the sun.
When to use it: spot-treating hard water marks that Purifica's gentler pre-wash foam won't fully shift.
A slick lubricant for mechanical decontamination with a clay bar or clay mitt, formulated to be safe over PPF and vinyl wrap as well as bare paint.
When to use it: alongside a clay bar or clay mitt whenever the paint still feels rough after chemical decon.
One bottle for most of the cabin: dash, doors, console, hard plastics and general trim, without the greasy, over-glossed look some interior dressings leave.
When to use it: regular interior wipe-downs on plastics, vinyl and general trim.
The workhorse APC for door jambs, engine bay, floor mats and wheel arches. Dilute stronger for heavy-duty jobs, weaker for general surface cleaning.
When to use it: anywhere a dedicated product is overkill — decant into a labelled spray bottle for convenience.
The heavy-cut option, formulated for deeper defects and hard clear coats, including ceramic-coated panels that need correction before a coating refresh.
When to use it: the first stage of a multi-step correction on paint with real swirl marks or oxidation.
The middle step in a multi-stage correction, or a one-step polish on softer paint that doesn't need Audace's full cutting power.
When to use it: softer paint, lighter defects, or as the second step after Audace.
The final refinement step, removing any remaining haze from compounding and leaving a coating-ready finish. Audace, Leale and Fiero together make up the 3-Step Polishing System, also available as a bundle.
When to use it: the last polishing pass before Veritas and a fresh coating.
Strips the panel of polishing oils, waxes and old sealant residue before a new coating or sealant goes on, and highlights any imperfections you might have missed.
When to use it: the final wipe-down before any coating, or as a rescue product if a high spot appears mid-application.
Applied to a wet panel straight after washing, Beneficia layers a fast, glossy protective coat without needing a machine or a full cure window.
When to use it: straight after your wash, while the panel is still wet — the easiest entry point into protection.
A spray-on quick detailer for topping up gloss and hydrophobics between washes, safe to use over an existing coating or sealant.
When to use it: between washes, or as a fast top-up before a show or a sale photo.
A gel-based tyre dressing built for an even, satin finish without the sling you get from cheaper spray dressings.
When to use it: clean, dry tyres after your wash — layer for more shine or leave at one coat for satin.
Labocosmetica is an Italian professional detailing brand, developed and manufactured entirely in Italy through in-house R&D. The range is built around a clear five-phase system — washing, decontamination, polishing, protection and maintenance — with every formula PFAS-free.
Every Labocosmetica product is made entirely in Italy, developed in the brand's own research and development laboratories rather than white-labelled or outsourced.
Four things stand out: entirely PFAS-free formulation across the range; VDA certification, the German automotive industry's material-safety standard, which Labocosmetica's Primus was the first pre-wash in the world to earn; pH-matched wash systems (alkaline, acidic and neutral products engineered to work together); and professional-grade concentration that's still approachable for enthusiasts doing their own car at home.
Primus is a heavy-duty alkaline pH11 snow foam pre-wash. It's applied before contact washing to break down road grime, oils and general dirt, reducing the amount of agitation — and therefore marring risk — needed during the wash itself.
Primus is a pre-wash foam applied before you touch the car, to loosen dirt from a distance. Semper is the contact shampoo used with a wash mitt and bucket during the wash itself. They're sequential steps in the same routine, not interchangeable products.
Purifica is an acidic snow foam applied at the pre-wash stage, targeting light mineral and inorganic contamination before you touch the panel. Sidero is a dedicated, direct-spray iron remover used as a standalone decontamination step — stronger, more targeted, and visibly reactive on embedded iron particles that Purifica's foam won't fully shift.
Energo is a concentrated water spot and limescale remover for stubborn mineral staining — the marks left behind when hard water has been allowed to dry and bake onto paint or glass.
Yes — a large part of the range is formulated to be coating-safe, including the pH-neutral wash products (Neve, Semper), Perfecta and Beneficia. As with any detailing chemistry, follow the dilution and dwell-time guidance on the bottle, and take extra care with stronger alkaline or acidic products on coatings that haven't fully cured yet.
The 3pH Wash System pairs Primus (alkaline), Purifica (acidic) and Semper (neutral) into a single routine that addresses organic dirt, mineral contamination and everyday maintenance washing in three matched steps, rather than relying on one generic shampoo to do all three jobs.
Semper is the core, pH-neutral maintenance shampoo in the range and the one most customers reach for week to week — it's safe over coatings and waxes and built for everyday use.
Omnia is the all-surface interior cleaner built to handle most of the cabin — dash, doors, console and general plastics — from a single bottle.
Primus, Semper, Omnia, Sidero and Beneficia. Together they cover pre-wash, wash, interior cleaning, decontamination and protection — a complete basic routine you can build on as you get more comfortable with the range.
Labocosmetica sits at the premium end of the market, but most products are sold as concentrates, so the cost per wash is lower than the shelf price suggests once you're diluting correctly. For PFAS-free chemistry, in-house Italian R&D, and results that hold up on coated, wrapped and PPF-protected cars, it's a fair trade-off for anyone serious about their car care routine — though budget-focused enthusiasts happy with a single all-purpose shampoo may not need the full system.
Yes — a large part of the range, including Lubrifica (formulated specifically as a PPF and wrap-safe clay lubricant), is safe to use on paint protection film. As with any detailing chemistry, check with your installer on cure time before using stronger pre-wash products like Primus or Purifica on a fresh PPF install.
Yes — the same PPF-safe products, including Lubrifica, are formulated to work on vinyl wraps too. Stick to the pH-neutral wash products (Neve, Semper) for regular maintenance, and check with your wrap installer before using stronger pre-wash chemistry on a wrap that's still curing.
The 3pH Wash System bundles Primus (alkaline), Purifica (acidic) and Semper (neutral) — the three matched wash-stage products that make up the system.
There isn't a single official starter bundle, but the closest thing is the five-product combination we recommend for beginners: Primus, Semper, Omnia, Sidero and Beneficia. Together they cover pre-wash, wash, interior cleaning, decontamination and protection.
Both — it's built as a complete system rather than specialising in one or the other. Semper, Neve and Idrosave cover maintenance washing, while Audace, Leale and Fiero handle paint correction. Most owners only need the maintenance side day-to-day and reach for the correction range once or twice a year.
