How to Wash BMW M2 | Car Wash Process
Keeping your BMW M2 looking its best requires more than just a quick rinse. Follow this detailed car wash process to clean your vehicle safely and effectively, like a pro.
Step 1 - Prepare your buckets (3-Bucket Method):
Start by preparing three buckets—each with a specific purpose:
Wash Bucket: Add car shampoo and fill up with water. Be sure to follow the correct dilution ratio as indicated on the shampoo bottle.
Eg. Car Shampoo: Labocosmetica SEMPERuse15 ml of product in a 15L bucket of water.
Rinse Bucket: Fill with clean water for rinsing your wash mitt between panels.
Wheel Bucket: Add car wash shampoo and fill with water
Step 2 - Clean the Wheels and Tires:
- Initial Rinse: Thoroughly rinse the wheels and tires to remove loose dirt and debris.
-
Prepare Brake Buster Wheel Cleaner:
- For Rims: Dilute at a 3:1 ratio (e.g., 250ml product + 750ml water in a 1L spray bottle).
- For Tyres: Use undiluted (Full strength)
-
Apply the Cleaner:
- Spray Brake Buster Wheel cleaner on rims and tyres. Allow the product to dwell for 1-2 minutes.
-
Agitate and Scrub:
- Wheel Barrels: Use the EZ Detail Wheel Brush to clean inside the barrels.
- Lug Nuts: Use the Premium Boar's Hair Detailing Brush for intricate areas, such as spokes and lug nuts.
- Face of the Rims:Use the Wheel Woolies Wheel Rim Brushto gently clean the rim surface and maneuver it into any tight space.
-
Scrub the Tyres: Use the Detail Factory Tyre Brush to scrub the tyres, removing dirt and old tyre dressings.
- Rinse Everything Off: Use a hose or pressure washer to rinse the wheels and tires clean.
Step 3 - Pre-wash foam:
Prepare foam cannon:Fill your foam cannon with snow foam shampoo and water. Follow the recommended dilution ratio on the bottle.
Eg. Labocosmetica PRIMUS 2.0 - Dilution Rate of 1:10 (91ml product to 909ml water)
Foam the entire vehicle: to help loosen dirt and reduce the chance of swirl marks during washing.
Step 4 - Rinse the Vehicle:
Rinse the foam off the car thoroughly using a hose or pressure washer.
Step 5 - Foam again for contact wash:
Refill your the foam cannon with car wash shampoo (not pre-wash snow foam this time), dilute correctly, and foam the car again to lubricate the surface before hand-washing.
Eg. Labocosmetica PURIFICA - Dilution Rate of 1:10 (91ml product to 909ml water)

Step 6 - Contact Wash:
Use a soft wash mitt or wash pad and follow the "top-to-bottom" method:
- Wash one panel at a time.
- Rinse the mitt in the Rinse Bucket after each panel to remove contaminants.
- Reload the mitt in the Wash Bucket, then continue to the next section.

Step 7 - Final Rinse:
Rinse the entire vehicle one last time to remove any remaining soap residue.
Step 8 - Dry the vehicle:
Use two medium-sized drying towels or one large microfiber drying towel. For quicker results, a car blower dryer works great to push water out of crevices and tight spots.
Step 9- Dry the Wheels:
Use the TRC Gauntlet Small towel to dry the wheels and tires completely to prevent water spots.
Step 10 - Apply Tyre Shine:
Evenly spread the Tyre Shine across the tires, ensuring full coverage.
