Add up every straight section including branches to each outlet. This drives how much pipe and how many joiners you need.
Every direction change in the run, not including the compressor connection.
Follow the pipe route, not the straight-line distance across the room. Longer routes lose more pressure, which can mean stepping up a pipe size.

    The aim is to keep air velocity low, reduce pressure drop along the run, and maintain consistent pressure at every tool. Undersized pipe is the most common cause of tools underperforming even when the compressor itself is adequate.

    CPRC 3-100 (3HP) 30m run 4 drop points 1-2 tools at a time

    Recommended: 20mm AIRnet. Still within range for a single operator, though if two tools run together regularly, 25mm gives more headroom and better future expansion.

    Professional workshop

    Ironman 5-150 (17.9 CFM FAD) 50m run 6 drop points 2-3 tools at a time

    Recommended: 25mm AIRnet. A 50m run with multiple simultaneous users pushes 20mm past a sensible velocity. 25mm keeps pressure consistent at the furthest outlet.
