Puma P22-120L Air Compressor (120L, 15 Amp)

PU P22-120L 240V

In-stock: Inventory updated

3.2 hp. 350 L/min FAD. 120 litre tank. 15A supply. The Puma P22-120L uses the same pump as the P22-100L on a larger receiver. The extra 20 litres is not about more air, it is about fewer motor starts during sustained work, which means steadier pressure and less wear over the pump's life.

Best Puma compressor for workshops where the compressor runs most of the working day, with the largest tank available on single phase.

3.2 hp / 2.4 kW350 L/min FAD120 L tank800 kPa / 115 psi240V single phase15 Amp
PowerRequires a 15 amp outlet, not a standard household point. Confirm before ordering.
WorkloadThe most capable single-phase Puma. Built for continuous daily commercial use.
DeliveryWheeled unit, standard courier delivery.
Air qualityOil-lubricated, but a 5 micron filter regulator is fitted as standard. That handles dirt and water. For paint, ceramic coatings or PPF, add a coalescing filter downstream, since a 5 micron element does not remove oil aerosol.
Worth knowingSame output as the P22-100L. The difference is stored air, not delivered air.

Best suited to

Ideal for

  • Workshops where the compressor runs most of the day
  • Sustained polisher and sander use
  • Busy two-bay detailing operations
  • Anyone wanting maximum reserve on single phase

Why choose this Puma

350 L/min free air delivery

Identical to the P22-100L. The pump is the same, so delivered air is the same.

120 litre receiver

The largest single-phase tank in the Puma range. More stored air means fewer compressor starts.

3.2 hp motor

Built for continuous commercial duty rather than intermittent use.

Reduced cycling

Fewer start-stop cycles under sustained load, which extends the working life of the pump and motor.

Belt driven

Slower pump speed than direct drive, less heat, longer life.

Filter regulator included

A 5 micron filter regulator is fitted as standard, removing dirt and water and giving accurate pressure control, with a Nitto-style coupling on the outlet.

Australian-tested TEFC motor

The 240V motor was developed and tested in Australia. Totally enclosed fan-cooled construction keeps dirt and moisture out of the windings.

Puncture-proof tyres

Solid rubber on steel wheels with ball bearing hubs, which matters at 115 kg.

FAD explained, and why it matters

Compressor air output is quoted two different ways, and the difference catches a lot of buyers out.

Pump displacement is the volume the pump sweeps on every rotation. It is a theoretical figure and it is always the larger of the two, which is why it often appears first in marketing.

Free Air Delivery (FAD) is the air that actually reaches your tool once losses through the valves, rings and heat are accounted for. This is the number that determines whether your equipment will run properly.

We list FAD as the headline figure on every Puma page. If you are comparing this against another compressor and that one only quotes displacement, you are not comparing like with like. Always ask for the FAD figure.

Installation and ordering

  • Requires a 15 amp outlet. This uses a physically larger plug than a standard 10 amp point.
  • If you do not have 15 amp available, a licensed electrician will need to install the circuit.
  • Position on a level surface with clear airflow around the pump and motor.
  • Allow access underneath for the tank drain valve. Drain accumulated condensate regularly; daily draining is recommended where the compressor is used frequently.
  • A 5 micron filter regulator is fitted as standard, so no basic filter purchase is needed. For paint, coating or PPF work, add a suitable coalescing filter downstream to reduce oil aerosol.

Choosing the right Puma

Step down if your use is intermittent. The P22-100L has identical output for less, with a smaller receiver.
Step down further if you are limited to 10 amp. The P16-100L runs on a standard outlet.
Choose the P18-100L instead if you need 1,000 kPa (145 psi). The P18-100L is the high-pressure option in the 15 amp range.
Step up to three-phase if you need more than 350 L/min. The P30 415V delivers 520 L/min.

Build a complete compressed-air system

A compressor on its own is only the starting point. What reaches your tool depends just as much on filtration and pipework.

Maintenance

Glenco publish a full maintenance schedule for oil-lubricated compressors. Keeping to it is what determines how many years you get out of the pump.

Interval Task
Daily Check the oil level and inspect for oil leaks. Drain accumulated condensate from the tank; daily draining is recommended where the compressor is used frequently.
Weekly Check or clean the air filter, test the safety valve, inspect for air leaks.
Monthly Check the V-belt, tighten fasteners, clean the unit.
3 months or 500 hours Replace the oil.
12 months or 2,000 hours Replace the air filter.
2 years or 4,000 hours Replace the filter-regulator and V-belt.

Consumables including filters, lubricants and V-belts are not covered by warranty. Service intervals should be shortened in harsher working conditions.

Free air delivery is the figure to size your tools against. Higher pressure and higher flow are a trade-off at each amp rating, so pick based on what your tools actually require.

Common questions

How much air does it deliver?

350 L/min free air delivery (12.4 cfm), identical to the P22-100L. The difference between the two models is receiver size, not output.

What does FAD mean?

Free Air Delivery, the usable air that reaches your tool. It is always lower than pump displacement, which is a theoretical figure. Compare FAD against FAD.

Is the extra 20 litres worth it over the P22-100L?

It depends on your duty cycle. A larger receiver stores more air, so the motor starts less often during continuous work. If the compressor runs most of the day, the reduced cycling extends pump life. For intermittent use the difference is marginal and the P22-100L is the better value.

What tools can it run?

The same as the P22-100L: blow guns, detailing tools, interior cleaning guns and polishers comfortably, sanders for a single operator. The larger tank simply handles sustained demand more smoothly.

How many tools can operate simultaneously?

We do not publish a fixed number because it depends entirely on your specific tools and duty cycle. Send us your list and we will work it out.

What power supply is required?

240V single phase on a 15 amp circuit.

Is it suitable for detailing?

Yes, particularly for operations running air tools for extended periods. A 5 micron filter regulator is fitted as standard. For paint, coating or PPF work, add a suitable coalescing filter downstream to reduce oil aerosol.

Is delivery included?

Delivery is charged at cost. Contact us with your postcode.

Does it need professional installation?

Only the 15 amp circuit if you do not already have one.

What warranty comes with it?

Glenco Air & Power provide a 12 month warranty against defects in material and workmanship from the date of original sale. Electric motors carry whatever warranty the motor manufacturer provides. Consumables including filters, lubricants and V-belts are not covered, nor is normal wear and tear. Keep your tax invoice as proof of purchase.

What maintenance does it need?

Glenco publish a full schedule. Daily: check the oil level, inspect for oil leaks and drain the air tank. Weekly: check or clean the air filter, test the safety valve and inspect for air leaks. Monthly: check the V-belt, tighten fasteners and clean the unit. Every 3 months or 500 hours: replace the oil. Every 12 months or 2,000 hours: replace the air filter. Every 2 years or 4,000 hours: replace the filter-regulator and V-belt.
