Chicago Pneumatic CP Ironman 5-150, 5.5HP 150L 3 Phase Air Compressor

A commercial-grade, cast iron piston compressor built for workshops that run air tools all day, every day. Slow-turning, long-life pump, 150 litre AS-certified tank, and enough free air delivery to run polishers, DA sanders, spray guns and blow guns across a multi-bay detailing or PPF workshop without the compressor becoming the bottleneck.

Built for continuous workshop use

The Ironman range uses slow-turning, long-lifetime cast iron pumps rather than the small aluminium pumps found in hobbyist compressors. Deep cooling fins on the cylinder heads, a cast iron flywheel and a copper outlet pipe keep the unit running cool through extended duty cycles, the kind of use a busy detailing bay actually puts a compressor through.

Key features

  • MEPS-compliant IP55 motor with copper windings, protected from dust, oil and water ingress
  • Cast iron shaft, connecting rod and cylinders for long service life and low wear
  • Stainless steel valves and valve plates to minimise losses and hold consistent delivery pressure
  • 150L AS-certified air receiver tank with forklift feet for repositioning
  • High-quality Condor pressure switch fitted as standard
  • Large oil sight glass for quick, tool-free level checks
  • Two year warranty on the pump

Note on fittings: this is a 3-phase model. Chicago Pneumatic's single-phase Ironman units ship with a filter-regulator and quick-couplings already fitted, the 3-phase range does not include these as standard. Budget for a filter-regulator and an outlet whip hose separately, see below.

Shipping and delivery

This unit is heavy. The $120 shipping rate applies to metro areas only. If you're outside a metro area, email us for a shipping quote to your business address.

Delivery requirements: this compressor ships on a skid. We require a business address for delivery with forklift access on-site for unloading.

What you'll need to connect it

This compressor doesn't come pre-fitted with a filter-regulator or outlet coupling. To get it running into a rigid workshop air line, you'll need:

Filter regulator

Removes moisture and sets working pressure before air reaches your tools. Essential for spray guns and coating work.

Outlet whip hose

Flexible connection from the compressor outlet to your rigid pipe run, isolates vibration from the fixed line.

Aluminium ring main fittings

20mm or 25mm push-connect pipe and fittings to run air to every bay from a single compressor.
